N64是第一部64位的游戏机,但是它的推出并未打开64BIT机的热潮,大家好象对这部主机没什么反应,它推出后仍是32BIT机们在唱主角,现在已基本向128BIT机过渡,64BIT的时代好象什么感觉似的,32BIT机一下跳到128BIT机的时代...N64真是可怜呀,不过它在美国的销售还是不错的(在欧美最近还超过了SS)

General Description
Donkey Kong single-handedly transformed Nintendo from a small Japanese toy company to later become one of the biggest video game companies in the world. Donkey Kong was (and still is) one of the most popular arcade games ever released.

Donkey Kong was probably the second most merchandised game of its time, behind Pac-Man. The game went on to spawn two classic sequels, Donkey Kong Jr. and Donkey Kong 3 as well as a slew of other games involving its characters on home systems. Donkey Kong and its star character, Mario are probably one of most well known video game characters today, with new games still be released featuring them.

About this version...
This game worked suprisingly well considering the jerkiness of the LCD display. The game gets harder as you progress by the introduction of girders that you can smash your head on if you time your jumps wrong, and by the gradual (and finally impossible) increase of the game's speed.

Nuon

VM Labs was the inventor of the NUON multimedia processor. NUON was used in many major brand DVD players and set-top boxes.

After VM Labs' Chapter 11 filing in early 2002, Genesis Microchip bought the intellectual property of VM Labs and is now the legal owner of the NUON technology. In July 2002 Genesis decided to cancel all NUON activities started by VM Labs and laid off all former VM Labs employees.

I like to use this site to keep the memory of the NUON technology alive and devote it to the great engineering team that created NUON.

その昔、ゲームボーイどころかファミコンすら無い時代、さらにパソコンすらまだSFの世界だった頃、子供達の間で流行したのが電子ゲーム (LSIゲーム)。最初はLEDを使った単純なモノでしたが、やがてG&Wで大ブレイクする液晶ゲーム、そしてその鮮やかな画面に誰もが夢中になったFLゲームがあります。本ゲームは、学研というゲームとはまったくかけ離れてると思われる会社が発売したFLゲームで、インベーダーブームに?#092;って登場した初代機 (白いヤツ) をパワーアップしたモノ (ちなみに、これが初代機で、これが本ゲームの元となったモノ) を Grumpy Cat氏 (web) がGBA用のゲームとして移植したモノです。

本物の筐体を模したデザインも含めグラフィックの再現度はかなり高いです。特にFLのフリッカー (チラつき)・・・というか、表示関係全体を含めてかなり良いカンジです。見た目だけでなく、操作性も本物ソックリです。本物では砲台の移動はレバーを使用したんですが、放すと真ん中に戻るタイプのレバーを使用していました。本ゲームでも、十字キーを押していない時には自動的に真ん中に戻るようになっています (まぁ、これが遊びやすいかどうかは別問題ですけれども (笑))

スタート時は砲台3機、250発のミサイルを持っています。全てのミサイルを打ち尽くすか、残機数が0になるか、自陣にエイリアンが侵入するとゲームオーバーとなります。単純にミサイルを乱射しているだけではミサイル切れでゲームオーバーになってしまうというのがオリジナルですね。そういや、バンダイのミサイルインベーダーも弾数制限があったっけ。インベーダーの数が少ないしフィールドも狭いのでゲーム性を高めるための工夫なのかもしれませんね (ちなみに、700点に達すると、残機数が1増え、ミサイルが50発追加されます。ミサイルが残り30発を切ると警告音が鳴ります)。3段階のレベルが選択でき、1000点でカンストとなります。

ルールにちょっとした変更はありますが、大まかな流れは同じですので特にプレイする上で問題になることはないでしょう。音は良く覚えてないけど、たぶんこんなカンジのピコピコ音だったんじゃないかな。いずれにせよ、雰囲気は出てます。これからも昔の電子ゲームをシミュレートしてくれると嬉しいなぁ (エポックのスーパーギャラクシアンとか)

Introduzione
Questo sito vuole essere un omaggio ai mitici "Game & Watch", giochi elettronici prodotti dalla Nintendo tra il 1980 ed il 1991, venduti in tutto il mondo e tuttora apprezzati per la genialita' e l'intentiva. Imitatissimi seppure mai eguagliati, questi giocattoli sono considerati ancora oggi dei veri capolavori dai collezionisti e dai cultori del retrogaming.
La cosiddetta masterlist (la lista ufficiale della serie) conta ben 59 giochi differenti, piu' alcune edizioni speciali per forma del gioco, o illustrazione o sagoma del box.

Contenuti
Diverse sono le serie di Game & Watch esistenti. Si va dal gioco piccolo tascabile a quello a doppio schermo, o da tavolo o da giocare in coppia.
In questo sito, nella sezione GIOCHI troverete sia le informazioni inerenti ciascun Game & Watch, sia delle riproduzioni molto accurate dei vari giochi, scaricabili e giocabili gratuitamente sul tuo PC!

Brevi cenni di storia
Va qui sicuramente menzionato Gunpei Yokoi, il geniale inventore che nel 1980 ebbe per primo l'intuzione di applicare la tecnologia dei cristalli liquidi (LCD) ai giochi elettronici tascabili, i quali a quel tempo venivano prodotti esclusivamente col sistema delle lucine colorate (LED). Nel 1980 Gunpei inventa e brevetta Ball, primo gioco della serie a cui seguiranno nell'arco di pochi mesi altri titoli di successo quali Fire! e Lion.
Il Game & Watch diventa presto fenomeno di costume, e dal Giappone si sposta per invadere gli USA e l'Europa. Con l'evoluzione dei giochi nel nuovo formato con schermo molto piu' grande (Wide-Screen) e a doppio schermo (Multi-Screen) compare anche quella che diventera' una linea comune dei giochi Nintendo: i personaggi caratterizzati da un aspetto molto simile nei vari giochi. Ecco infatti Octopus, Lifeboat, Mario Bros, Rain Shower tra gli altri. Le licenze con la Walt Disney e la United Feature Syndicate portano personaggi come Popeye, Snoopy, Mickey Mouse ed entrare in alcuni dei Game & Watch destinati a restare nella storia.
Ma tutto questo non basta. Gunpei vuole portare anche il colore nei propri giochi, e ci riesce brillantemente nelle serie Super Color, Panorama Screen e Tabletop, in cui una tecnologia particolarissima permette di giocare con LCD colorati mediante un ingegnoso sistema di specchi. Giochi belli da vedere e da sentire ma purtroppo molto costosi.
Realizzare giochi per due giocatori diventa occasione per una nuova sfida, e la serie Micro-VS propone tre giochi con uno schermo molto allungato, e un piccolo controller per ciascun giocatore: Boxing, Donkey Kong 3 e Donkey Kong Hockey.
...e dopo il colore la trasparenza! L'incredibile serie Crystal ha infine uno schermo LCD cosi' particolare da non aver necessita' di uno sfondo per poter essere utilizzato. E dunque il gioco puo' essere osservato da due lati opposti mentre si gioca: Climber, Balloon Fight e Super Mario Bros sono dei veri capolavori di giocabilita' e stile.
Arrivati ai tempi piu' recenti, la Nintendo ha autorizzato la realizzazione di particolari portachiavi con un minuscolo Game & Watch incatenato: i Miniclassics. Non tutti i giochi vengono realizzati in questo nuovo formato.

為加強遊戲多元化的內容以及考慮到未來的發展,所以採用了16位元的CPU (*1)以及8層灰階的LCD(*2)。這比起以往的攜帶型遊樂器會有更豐富 的角色表現。

One of the most intriguing is Apple Computer's Pippin, which should sell for less than $1,000. Although Pippin has many of the attributes of a computer, the company calls it a multimedia device because it lacks such essentials as a floppy drive and hard disk.

Apple designed Pippin for people who want to play back CDs and surf the Net, but don't need heavy-duty computing capabilities. At the heart of the unit lies a 66 megahertz PowerPC 603 processor, so it should be no slouch in performance.

Pippin boots off a quad-speed CD-ROM that handles standard audio CD, CD Plus and the Photo CD format, in addition to Pippin software. Sound quality is important so there will be stereo 16-bit CD quality audio inputs and outputs.

The device uses a cut-down version of the Macintosh operating system. All Pippin CD-ROM titles can be played on a standard Macintosh.

In some ways, Pippin seems like an updated version of the Commodore 64, the most popular home computer in the early 80's. For example, to keep it more affordable you can plug your TV set into Pippin. The device comes with both NTSC and S-Video outputs. Or you can plug in a standard VGA video monitor.

Pippin comes with 6 megabytes of combined system and video RAM and another 4 megabytes of ROM, enough for cruising the Net. You'll be able to buy memory expansion cards in up to 8 megabyte increments.

If Pippin seems rather bare-bones by today's standards, you'll be able to upgrade it using what Apple calls "PCI-like" expansion. Add-ons including a floppy drive, hard disk and graphics accelerator will be available in the future.

However, if you think you'll need all these features at the outset, you'd be better off buying a regular Macintosh. Based on what I've learned, buying these options piecemeal for Pippin will cost much more than buying them built-in to a Mac.

There's not a whole lot of profit manufacturing a computer that retails for under $1,000. Furthermore, Apple's latest financial statements, dripping with red ink, show that it's not the most efficient computer maker around.

Pippin will likely be a computer that Apple designs but does not sell. Apple has already licensed Pippin technology to Bandai Co. Ltd., the Japanese entertainment company behind the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. Bandai will market and distribute the machine worldwide, while it will be manufactured by consumer electronics giant Mitsubishi.

Bandai will launch Pippin in Japan this spring and expects to make it available in North America later this year. Pippin could make computing more affordable to many budget-wise consumers.

Compaq Presario Scanner
Compaq Computer plans to introduce a couple of interesting features in new Presario home computers due late next month. Some models will include a recordable CD-ROM drive. There's also an interesting keyboard with a built-in scanner.

The black and white scanner will accept pages up to 8.5 inches wide and scans at a resolution of 400 DPI (dots per inch). You slip in the page at the back of the keyboard and the scanner automatically feeds it through. The keyboard will include both graphics and OCR (optical character recognition) software. There's even an adjustable latch that lets you scan business cards.

Philips CD-i

The CD-I was released around 1991 starting with model 210 for $199.99. Subsequent models, upgrades, controllers, and video expansion packs were later released. There were lots of edutainment titles released and a few Nintendo licensed franchises made an appearence on the CD-I; Hotel Mario, Zelda: Wand of Gamelon, Link: Faces of Evil, and Zelda's Adventure. Note: Zelda's Adventure is really the only one worth playing, so I've heard. I can attest that the other two really aren't worth it, unless you have to have everything Zelda.. Besides games, the CD-I was able to play the Video CD's (VCD) and a number of movies were released for play on the CD-I including Wayne's World, Beverly Hills Cop, and 4 Weddings and a Funeral.

From what I understand, the CD-I started as a joint venture between Nintendo and Sony for a CD Drive add-on for the Super Nintendo. Nintendo got cold feet about the venture and forced Sony out. Sony had taken what they learned on the project and started designing the Playstation. Nintendo stayed and snagged Philips into the project. After it was costing Nintendo too much money and interest in the project subsided, they left the project in the hands of Philips to do what they wanted with it. For these reasons, you find Nintendo mascots in their own games for the CD-I.
